As a membership corporation, social events play an important role throughout the year. The main objective is fostering the ideals of Schlaraffia which are humor, the arts, friendship, and tolerance. Furthermore, the social events are perfect opportunities to attract new members and spread awareness of the company’s mission:
- During the months of October through April the members meet weekly in their club facilities, where they perform and follow a ceremonial play full of humor and arts. Non-
members can attend those meetings upon invitation. - During the months of May through September casual meetings are scheduled, so called -
‘Stammtisch’- ASM clubhouse or public restaurants.to which friends are invited. Those events occur at the - Iin each season of the year large social events are planned, which incorporate casual and formal dinners, and artistic and musical performances. To those events friends and non-
members are invited. - Wine Tasting: A local winery is invited to conduct a wine tasting event for members and friends. Attendees pay a nominal participation fee and are encouraged to donate to ASM dedicated charities.
- Open House: Once a year ASM organizes an Open House event. Invitations are sent out to friends and other local community associations through email and social media. Members explain the activities of the corporation. Attendees get information literature and enjoy free snacks, drinks and entertainment.
